Capturing Flavour on Film: Our Journey with Shane Delia
At Nelli’s, we’ve always believed that flavour is more than taste, it’s an experience. Recently, we’ve had the chance to share that experience in a new way: by bringing our craft to the screen.

Working with Shane Delia on Shane Delia’s Malta was something genuinely special. Filming inside our kitchen, walking through our curing process, and showing how local ingredients come together in our products was a first for us. Shane’s respect for Maltese food culture made it easy to open up about what drives our work: good ingredients, careful technique, and a deep connection to place.
For us, the collaboration was a chance to show viewers that flavour carries a story. It’s patience. It's a memory. It’s craftsmanship. And it’s proudly Maltese.
The episode premieres Monday, November 24th on SBS Food, and will also stream for free on SBS On Demand. Being part of this project reminded us that even from a small kitchen on a small island, the love for food — and the stories that come with it — can travel far.
We hope that when people watch it, they’ll get a sense of what flavour tastes like at Nelli’s: rooted in Malta, shaped by time, and meant to be shared.
